Welcome to the creole season.
A strong symbol of our culture and heritage.
A bow that ties the gift of our Independence.
The cloth that dresses the nature isle,
With colors of white, red, green and orange.
The tradition that is always on a mission.
As the people dance Flirtation, Quadrille and Bele
and jing ping melodies sweep the air.
The people surrender to local dishes.
Sancoche and callaloo, to name a few
And their outfits paint the streets
From the sky everything is brand new.
Joy, freedom and togetherness is what the season brings.
Elevates us and gives us colorful wings,
And it all happens in the heart of fall.
So this creole season, may God be with us all.
